Insurance for employers

For Dutch stichtingen with at least one employee: which insurances the employer must arrange, which ones Moral Fabric recommends, and why.
Dutch law does not require a stichting to take out insurance just because it employs people. The only obligation that exists comes from case law. The largest financial risks of being an employer (liability claims, long-term sickness and personal liability of board members) are not covered by default. That is why Moral Fabric recommends a small set of insurances on top of the required one.
This overview assumes the stichting does not own or lease vehicles. A stichting that does must also take out a motor vehicle liability insurance (WA-verzekering), which is mandatory by law (see Ondernemersplein: Bedrijfsauto verzekeren (WA-verzekering) ).
